Our Founder

Our Founder, Heather Kitson, has spent 27 years in the (re)insurance industry, the majority in senior leadership and board roles, building regulated companies in Bermuda and London.

A dual-qualified lawyer (England & Wales and Bermuda), Heather trained at a London City law firm known for reinsurance dispute resolution, spending seven years in the London market before returning home to Bermuda in 2005 to join Aspen Re at start-up as General Counsel and Board Director. She has been building companies ever since: she was employee number one at Convex in Bermuda, rising to Deputy CEO of Convex Re, and served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of a Bermuda life reinsurer, giving her first-hand experience across both the non-life and life markets. She has held directorships on regulated boards spanning Class 4, 3B and 3A reinsurers, an ILS company, a reinsurance broker and an insurtech, and serves as Chair of several children's non-profits.
